About the Project:
Our project is based on livelihood generation through
rural tourism and this is the main objective of our plan so that the people can
get their livelihood and the outmigration of youth and unemployed persons can
be decreased gradually. Because of less employment opportunities in the block,
most of the working male groups have migrated from the region.
The villages of this region are very beautiful with
natural scenic beauty and can be developed as places for rural tourism for
livelihood promotion for the region as well as to make this region as main
destination for rural tourism in Uttarakhand.
In our
project we are focusing on four main types of tourism
(1) Rural tourism
(2) Volunteer tourism
(3) Adventure tourism.
(4) Spiritual and wellness tourism
Aim :
Livelihood generation through tourism
and developing a sustainable tourism model for rural development.
Objectives :
- Development of the villages by generating employment, providing basic services and upgrading their lifestyle.
- To strengthen the interaction between tourists and the locals for community development.
- To promote different types of tourism namely Rural, Volunteer and Adventure Tourism.
- Revival of local culture through tourism.
- Conservation of the environment.
- Promotion of peace, harmony and understanding

Tourism policy of Uttarakhand:
In recognition of the unlimited tourism potential of the state and its
significance in the economic development process, the State Government has
adopted a pragmatic policy frame work.
The tourism policy of the state has set a vision of placing Uttarakhand on
the tourism map of the world as one of the leading tourist destinations by
developing its manifold tourism related resources.
The policy is supported by a package of incentives and mechanisms for
attracting private investment in the sector.

Types Of Tourism
Rural
Tourism
• Essentially an activity which takes place in the
countryside
• A chance for the rural communities to interact with the outside world.
• Employment opportunities for rural people.
• Best way to experience the simple lives and rich cultures of Indian villages.
• Multifaceted and may entail farm/agricultural, nature
and cultural tourism.
Volunteer Tourism
Volunteering is
generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good
or improve human quality of life. It is considered as serving the society
through own interest, personal skills or learning, which in return produces a
feeling of self-worth and respect, instead of money.*

Adventure Tourism
“Adventure tourism is an outdoor leisure activity that generally takes place in an unusual, remote or wilderness setting, sometimes involving some form of unconventional means of transportation and tending to be associated with low or high level of physical activity.” *
